Celebrating National Marina Day, the annual MarinaFest Boat Show/Marina del Rey Open House event has been expanded to include free boat rides, water-taxi service to yacht club open houses, a swap meet, a wetlands tour, boats for sale, vendors and food. The one-day MarinaFest Boat Show event takes place Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Marina del Rey’s Catalina Yacht Anchorage on Bali Way, just west of Lincoln and Admiralty Way. Admission is free to the Marinafest Boat Show and to the various yacht club open houses.


The show will include spectacular power and sail craft by Cruising Yachts Unlimited, Catalina

Yachts, recreational water gear from Action Watersports, displays by Marina Sailing, Catalina

Island, S & K Dive Service, Electric Bike of Los Angeles, Mare Co Sails, Blue Pacific Sailing,

Marina del Rey Historical Society, Santa Monica Bay Restoration Society, Holiday Boat Parade,

and more.


Water taxi service will be offered to open house events at California Yacht Club, Pacific

Mariners Yacht Club, Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club, and South Coast Corinthian

Yacht Club.


Pacific Mariners Yacht Club’s annual marine and non-marine swap meet begins at 8 a.m. in the

club’s parking lot, at 13915 Panay Way, Marina del Rey.


Free sailboat rides will be offered by Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club from 12 noon to

5 p.m. SMWYC is located at 13589 Mindinao Way, Marina del Rey.


The Friends of Ballona Wetlands are offering a Ballona Freshwater Marsh Tour from 10 a.m. to

11 a.m. Park on southwest side of Jefferson Boulevard, just west of Lincoln Boulevard. An

open house self-guided tour of the salt marsh and dunes where visitors are free to walk on

trails, with docents at various stations is offered from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Park in the lot behind

Gordon’s Market at 303 Culver Boulevard, Playa del Rey.


Limited parking is available at Catalina Yacht Anchorage, with additional parking available at

several county lots. The Beach Shuttle will operate hourly from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and from

4:15 p.m. to 10 p.m. with stops at Playa Vista, Fisherman’s Village, Admiralty & Fiji Way,

Admiralty Way & Burke Park, Admiralty Way & Palawan Way, Washington Boulevard & Pacific

Avenue, Washington Boulevard & Via Marina, Admiralty Way & Mindinao Way (Marina del Rey

Visitors Center).
